RUSTAVELI UNDER RECONSTRUCTION AT NIGHT
IMG_0325
Kashveti: a model Tbilisi church. Its clergy stepped out onto Rustaveli to shield protesters from police. Unlike the Post Office, Kashveti survived the civil war with minimal damage. Unlike Alexander Nevsky Cathedral—now replaced by the Georgian Parliament—it still stands in its original location. Yet it's not quite the same temple. Over the past thousand years it's been rebuilt at least three times. Never once as a hotel.
